Frequently Asked Questions

 A “Meet-and-Greet” is a chance for you to meet us and for us to meet your pet. All pets must attend a “Meet-and-Greet” prior to their first stay. The “Meet-and-Greet” is a free service. 

• Your completed Intake Forms (emailed to you)
• Your pet's Vaccination Record showing proof of up-to-date Rabies, Parvovirus, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccines (veterinarian printed or emailed to us prior to our meeting).
• Lice and Tick treatment (oral or herbal alternative)
• Full payment for your upcoming services

 DAISY WELCOMES DOGS THIS SIZE:

• WEIGHT: 25 lbs or less* *some exceptions made for pups meeting the height requirement but over the weight limit
• HEIGHT: 18 inches or less at shoulders* 
• AGE: Older than 1 year* *exceptions made for younger pups that are potty trained

• Separate, secure home set up especially for small-breed dogs 
• Dog living room (for Pup Pampering) 
• Dog play room (for supervised Pup Play) 
• Dog kitchen (for preparing meals, snacks, and fresh water)
• Dog suites (5’ and 6’ suites are roomy and comfortable) 
• Dehumidifier (keeps air from getting too moist)
• HV Fan (brings in fresh air all day)
• Dog-safe essential oil diffusion (keeps the air sweet and animals calm)
• Calming music (live harp or piped-in music)
• On-site staff educated in training, behavior, and care
• Full bathroom for baths and daily clean up

• 6 acres of private property with a view of the mountains
• 3 fenced, secure, private yards for pup play (mowed or shoveled weekly)
• 1 half-mile walking trail through our private woods 
• 1 fenced, secure, private, clean manicured yard for Pup Potty
• Dog digging area
• Agility poles, tunnels, and tables (set up at your request) 
• Balls and other outdoor toys
• Picnic table
• Flat and rolling terrain for easy supervision
• Water pool (summer only)
• Poop-scooping stations

Positive reinforcement is the only interaction ever used at Daisy’s.

Please know that your pups are being loved, are safe, and are having fun at Daisy’s Retreat. While on vacation, some parents want to rest in the knowledge that their furry family is being well cared and do not want us to contact them. Others want photos of their dogs emailed or texted to them daily. We respect and accommodate your preference.

Your pup’s health and safety is our top priority. The Intake forms have information about your pup’s health and current medications, along with phone numbers we can use to reach you in an emergency. We will contact you before seeking treatment, and will keep you informed with updates during your pup’s stay. In an immediate emergency situation, we will attempt to take your pup to the veterinarian you have listed on your Intake Forms. If your veterinarian is not available, we will take your pup to another veterinarian.

Dogs staying at Daisy's Deluxe Dog Retreat must:

• Be Vaccinated for Rabies, Parvovirus, Distemper, Bordetella
• Be treated for Lice and Ticks (oral or herbal alternative) 
• Be potty or pee-pad trained (not potty inside our home)
• Get along with people & dogs
• Attend a "Meet-and-Greet" prior to a first stay with us
   

 We regret we CANNOT accept LARGE dogs or SMALL BREED dogs that are:

• Aggressive
• Reactive
• Destructive
• Coughing, or 
• Have a disease that is contagious to other animals
   

We also CANNOT accept dogs that:

• Bite other animals 
• Bite people  
• Suffer from severe Separation Anxiety
   

We offer several extra, add-on services, for free including, daily: 

dog training, combing for show dogs, practice for agility dogs, and walks in the woods twice each day. We charge for baths if one is needed. We don't offer grooming or nail clipping.
